The
Lionville Soccer
Club strives to provide positive, balanced and effective development
for
players in the Downingtown
Areas
School
District.
In 2008, Lionville continued its longstanding tradition - over 90% of
the
players who tried out were selected to play for their school teams! LSC
fielded
twelve teams in the PAGS and Delco leagues. 75% of the teams
participated in
Premier, Division 1 or Division 2 competition.
U9 Girls – The Storm Nets
First Win in PAGS League Play!
The newly formed Girls
U9 Storm took a nice first step in their development with a hard fought
2-1
victory in their first game of league play against Aston.
U10 Girls – The Lions
are Champions at Dillsburg!
The U10 Lions were
champions at the 2008 Dillsburg Dual Shootout Columbus Day
Tournament.
They were undefeated in the championship round with three heart
stopping
shootout wins including a come from behind shootout victory in the
championship
game. Congratulations Lions!
U11
Girls - The Leopards Capture Gold at
Spirit!
The
Girls U11 Leopards got out the gate quickly with an impressive
showing at the Spirit United Tournament in Downingtown.
The Leopards won all four matches on their
way to capturing first place in their division.
U12 Girls - First Year
Shock Starts off with a Bang!
The Girls U12 Shock, a
first year team, got off to a roaring start, taking Gold at their first
tournament in West Chester in August.
The Shock followed with a strong second place finish
at The Kids Peace
Tournament in Orefield,
PA. The
talented Shock squad suffered only one loss over the combined two
tournaments.
U14 Girls - Lady
Twisters Bring
Home A Bronze!
The Lady Twisters
finished 3rd out of 12 solid teams at the 2008 Discovery Cup in Maryland.
The
Twisters are playing in the Premier level in PAGS for the 2008
season.
U9
Boys – The Blue Crush
Show Strong Defense!
The
newly formed Boys U9 Blue Crush are starting to gel.
In their first 5 games in Delco League play,
they have registered three draws – including two tough-fought shutouts
against
Haverford and against West Chester.
U10
Boys – The Cougars
Finish in Top Tier at Dillsburg!
The
Boys U10 Cougars had am impressive showing at Dillsburg, finishing
6th out of a possible 24 teams. The
second year team qualified for the first
division, and finished the
tournament with a 2-2-2 record against the toughest competition in the
age
group.
U11
Boys – The Kixx Take a
First and a Third in Tournament Play!
The
Boys U11 Kixx had an impressive showing at the Dillsburg Columbus
Day Tournament, winning their division with a record of 4-3-1. Earlier, the Kixx finished third at the Kids
Peace Tournament in Orefield, PA.
U13
Boys – The Tornadoes
off to a Whirlwind Start!
The
Boys U13 Tornadoes have flown out of the gates in Division 1 Delco
play. Through the midway point, they are
an impressive 6-0-1, with four shutouts. In
this stretch, they have outscored their opponents
19 goals to 5.
U14 Boys – The Scorpions
Take Three Golds and a Silver!
The
Boys
U14 Scorpions had an impressive summer
tournament season, winning three tournaments and coming third in
another. The
Scorpions brought home gold at the Ridley Tournament in Ridley, The
Danny
Bevilaqua Memorial Tournament in King of Prussia, and Al
Perlini Memorial Tournament in Warminster. The
Scorpions also placed a respectable third
at the Kid’s Peace Tournament in Orefield, PA.
Mission Statement
The Lionville
Soccer Club provides Travel Soccer for boys and girls in
the Uwchlan Township and surrounding areas.
It is designed for the more serious soccer player who is looking for a
greater level of instruction and competition.
The Club is committed to the ideals of fair play, sportsmanship,
teamwork and the development of character. Our
primary objective is to develop players by providing quality
instruction that challenges each player, and to instill
a love and respect for the game. We believe that while winning is
important, development of character and skill take
priority. We strive to ensure that every player who goes through the
travel program will be sufficiently prepared to
play for their school teams.
