Lionville BLAST U11Boys capture Kids Peace Tournament Championship

The Lionville Blast U11Boys took first place in the Kids Peace Tournament on August 27th in Allentown, PA. The first day featured two hard fought games, in very bad weather, that resulted in a 0-0 tie against Buckingham United and a 1-0 win over Lower Merion. Blast moved into the championship with a 2-1 win over Tri-Boro on Sunday morning. The championship featured a rematch with Lower Merion and the first half ended even at 0-0. Matthew Santangelo opened the scoring in the second half off of a corner kick from Jeff Zebrowski in the 30th minute of regulation. After giving up the equalizer on a direct kick in the 32nd minute, the Blast struck back for the tournament winning goal, on a rocket shot off the foot of Robert Baxley from 25 yards out in the 38th minute. Lionville Blast continued their stellar play allowing only 2 goals the entire weekend. For the season the Blast has allowed only 3 goals in 7 games behind the goalkeeping of Bryan Murray. Job well done and good luck this season boys!

passing 3rd Exit (North Wyomissing Blvd.) Bear right to Exit onto Route 12
(Pricetown Road) north to Route 73. Turn left onto Route 73. Travel
approximately 1/2 mile, turn right onto Hartz Road. Travel approximately
1/4 mile on Hartz Road, field is on right. Clubhouse 50 yards further on
left. "

From 202 heading south ...
Take 202S to Rt1N, make a left on to Rt1-> Go 1.3 miles on Rt to Concord Rd,
make right on Concord Rd (at traffic light)-> Go about 0.5 miles on Concord
Rd. Make a left onto the driveway for the field.
That last left turn from Concord Rd on to the field driveway is the tricky
one. The field cannot be seen from the road and the driveway is not marked.
Coming down Concord Rd, you will pass Jonathan's restaurant on the left.
Then you will drive on a concrete bridge that crosses a little stream. Make
a left onto the unmarked driveway as soon as you cross over the concrete
bridge. The driveway is overgrown and very hard to see. Use the concrete
bridge as your landmark to slow down and look for the left turn. Follow the
driveway for 100 yards past a couple houses and to the field."
