Team Headlines

The Lionville Scorpions had a very successful second season of play in 2005, securing a Second Place finish with a record of 7-4-0 record in Delco League Play . The Scorpions outscored their opponents 32 – 13 over the course of league play, registering five shutouts in eleven games. The stingy defense was anchored by goal keepers Matt Richman and Tyler Folta, sweeper Dan Shaw, defenders Matt and Jack Dietrich, and stoppers Nicholas Pearson and Jake Weber. The midfield play was exceptionally strong, led by midfielders Kyle March, Jordan Arpan, Joey Meehan, and Sam Waxman. Left Winger Connor McGovern and Center Striker Evan Hermans led a balanced Scorpion attack. Forwards Doug Sexton, Andrew Drauschak, and Sean Lynch joined McGovern, Dietrich, Richman, Folta, March, Arpan, and Meehan in the scoring column. Doug Sexton was the team’s most versatile performer, often playing defense, midfield, and striker in the same game. The Scorpions will be playing a Winter Session at USTC and Delco Spring League in 2006.
