Storm take 2nd Place

2009 Spirit United Kick-Off Classic!

The Storm competed in the Spirit United Kick-Off Classic on Sunday, August 23rd.  This was their 2nd tournament in as many weeks.  All games were moved to Sunday after heavy rain cancelled the games scheduled for Saturday.   The Storm had to battle and persevere significant heat, a 7 am start and four-40 minute games all in the same day.  The Storm emerged as Finalists to bring home the Silver Trophy by achieving a record of 2 wins no losses and 2 ties.  Lionville defeated the Teysa Storm and Radnor Redbull teams in games where the Lionville Storm completely controlled each game.  One tie came against a very skilled and talented Northern Virginia Majestic Blue team highlighting a Storm goal in the last 5 minutes of regulation to overcome a 2-1 deficit.  This game was a battle from start to finish.  The other tie came from a very tenacious Brandywine Dynamite team that led to a 0-0 outcome. 

The Storm are off to a great start finishing first and second in back to back tournaments this summer.
